Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup Warm milk
  • 2 tbsp instant dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp salted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • ½ cup salted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Glaze

  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup salted butter softened
  • 1 to 1½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the Dough:
    - In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine warm milk, yeast, sugar, salt, butter, and eggs.
    - Gradually add flour while using a dough hook, starting at low speed. Increase to a medium range as the flour incorporates.
    - Adjust flour until the dough is tacky but not sticky. It should be soft; let feel guide you in achieving the desired consistency.
    2. First Rise:
    - Transfer the dough to a lightly greased mixing bowl.
    - Cover with a towel and let it rise until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
    3. Roll Out the Canvas:
    - Lightly grease a baking sheet.
    - Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a 12x18 inch rectangle with finesse.
    4. Add the Decadence:
    - Brush the dough with 1/2 cup melted butter.
    - In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this enchanting blend atop the melted butter.
    5. Roll and Slice:
    - Roll the dough tightly lengthwise, creating a long, enticing spiral.
    - Employ dental floss or a sharp knife to cut the dough into 12 one-inch slices.
    6. Second Rise:
    - Place these slices onto a lightly greased 9x13 pan.
    - Cover and let them rise for 30 to 45 minutes, allowing them to mature into delectable morsels.
    7. Preheat and Bake:
    - Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
    - Bake the rolls for about 14 minutes until they're kissed with a golden-brown allure.
    8. Craft the Crown:
    - While the cinnamon rolls are baking, make the cream cheese glaze.
    - Use a hand mixer to whip together cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
    - Whip in powdered sugar and vanilla extract, adjusting consistency with enough milk for a drizzle-like texture.
    9. Frost and Enjoy:
    - Frost the rolls generously with the cream cheese glaze while still warm.
    - Serve immediately, reveling in the gooey warmth, or cool and store for a tantalizing experience over the next 4 to 5 days.
Embark on this culinary journey and relish the celebration of each step as you create these artisanal cinnamon roll masterpieces.
